In this article today I will solve the Equation No 1 that how to find the Centriod of any object.

Example no 1: determine the centriod of the given figure with reference to the given reference axis.

Solution:-

Given figure is symmetrical about y axis passing through the center of bout  rectangular figure (1) and (2) so required centriod will at the distance of 70/2 = 35cm from the y-axis along the x-axis I-e  x = 35cm

Now y will be determine by moment of area method for which :

Area of figure 1) = a1d     =1030 = 300cm2

Area of figure (2) = a2d    = 7010 = 700cm2

Distance of G1 along y-axis = y= 30/2 = 15cm

Distance of G2 along x-axis = y= 30+10/2 = 35cm

 



Distance of centriod =y =?

We know that

y=300 15+700

29000/1000 = 29 cm
